Reflexology is based on the principle that reflex points on the soles, tops, and sides of the feet correspond to different areas of the body. In this way, the feet can be seen as a ‘map’ of the body. By applying specialised massage techniques to specific reflex points – using the thumbs, fingers and knuckles – the aim of a reflexology treatment is to help restore balance to the body naturally and improve the client’s general well-being.

Reflexology involves working on the hands, ears and face, however it is the feet that are commonly treated.

What to anticipate

A consultation will take place, asking several questions about your health and lifestyle, to ensure reflexology is right for you.

For the treatment only the removal of shoes and socks are required. To ensure support when the treatment will be carried out on a massage couch, where support will be provided for the back, knees and feet. A gently cleanse of feet before applying a wax, to help provide a free-flowing treatment, and then start gently massaging and stretching your feet and ankles.

The areas treated and pressure applied will be adapted to suit your individual needs.

Treatment generally lasts for 45 minutes to an hour, though shorter reflexology sessions may be more appropriate in some instances.

Benefits

Reflexology can help to relieve anxiety and tension, encourage relaxation, improve mood and aid sleep, though some people use it to help them cope with more specific health challenges.

Some use it to simply relax and unwind, while others have regular massage to help them manage or cope with specific physical, mental, or emotional problems. When massage is performed on the skin it stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system and promotes a sense of relaxation and calmness.

Specific types of therapeutic massage are also used to decrease tension in the muscles. Muscle tension can be the result of muscular trauma or underlying, ongoing emotional stress. A Swedish massage can relax muscles and reduce emotions of stress related to tension. Waxing Treatments

Requirements before coming for a waxing treatment

  • Ensuring the hair growth is half an inch thick, this is equivalent to the size of a grain of rice. This will provide less uncomfortable wax
  • If the hair is longer than this, I would recommend trimming the hair.
  • Don’t take a bath or shower immediately before the treatment, as soaking softens the hair and causes them to break more and cause the waxing treatment to be less
    effective

Aftercare advice

  • It is recommended to get a wax every 4 to 6 weeks. Over time the hair follicle will have less and less of a grip on the hair to be pulled and the hairs will come out more easily.
  • It is important to note that everyone’s skin reacts differently to waxing treatments, but you can expect to have temporary redness and minor irritation for a day or two. Slight itchiness may be experienced as the hair grows out. Proper post-wax care will alleviate these symptoms quickly.
  • Try to avoid heavy exercise that will increase sweating for 24 – 48 hours after waxing

What is an LVL?

A Length Volume Lift effect, which lasts up to 6-8 weeks. This treatment provides natural looking lashes for long, short or stubborn natural lashes. This treatment is for the ladies who are sick of mascara, extensions and want a treatment that provides a longer result from a typical lash lift and tint.

This treatment will make the lashes and eyes appear more open and youthful as well as saving time in your routine. So,  If a low maintenance and natural looking enhancement is what you require then the Nouveau Lashes LVL lash lift will deliver.

HOW DOES THE LVL LASH LIFT WORK?

Following on from your patch test and consultation, the lash artist will apply the appropriate shape shield to your eyelid and your lashes will be pressed against this using a bonding gel.

STEP 1: LIFT

With all the lashes neatly bonded, a lifting balm is then applied which allows the structure and shape of your lashes to change and be lifted at the root

STEP 2: VOLUMISE

Once this has been removed, a 2-in-1 volumising fix and tint is applied, sealing your lashes into their new shape and adding volume and definition.

STEP 3: BALANCE

A pH balancing serum is applied to the lashes, strengthening from within and coating from the outside to help protect, increase shine and prevent over-processing.

STEP 4: MOISTURISE

Finally, a moisturising serum is applied to nourish the lashes, help lock in tint colour and ease them off the shield, revealing beautifully healthy, lifted lashes. Enriched with a film former, it helps to instantly hold the new curl while your lashes are still settling into place.

Aftercare Advice:

To achieve the best results of the LVL treatment please follow the below steps for the first 24 hours:

  • Don’t get the lashes wet
  • No touching the lashes (e.g. rubbing the eyes , eyelash curlers or lying on them when sleeping)
  • Don’t put anything on the lashes such as mascara, eye cream and lash extensions
  • avoid heat or steam (e.g. saunas, sunbeds and strong sunlight)

Recommended intervals every 6-8 weeks

What are semi-permanent lashes?

Synthetic eyelashes (either single lashes or fans) that are applied to each natural lash, making them look longer and fuller. They generally last for weeks (rather than just for an occasion) and grow out with your natural lashes, unless you decide to continue treatment with regular infills.

How long so Semi-permanent eyelashes last?

Semi-permanent lash extensions can last for up to 8 weeks, with infills around 2-3 weeks after the initial appointment to help them last longer.

How do I clean semi-permanent eyelashes?

After you have avoided water for the first 24 hours and steam or heat for 48 hours, it’s important to keep your semi-permanent lashes clean by washing them regularly. This stops any dirt or debris settling between the lashes and keeps your whole eye area clean.

Follow these 3 steps to keep your lashes perfectly cleansed, hydrated and moisturised:

Step 1

Remove all your eye make-up. Use an oil-free formula to avoid it affecting the adhesive.

Step 2

Clean your eyes with an oil-free lash cleanser everyday.

Step 3

Run a clean mascara wand through the lashes to brush and fan them out to help them retain the perfect curl. With a new set of lashes, tailored just the way you like. It is over to you.

Why should I not pick at my lashes?

Yes, it’s tempting to pull them out by hand, but it’s important that you don’t! Pulling at each lash will prematurely remove the natural lash with it, which is especially detrimental if the lash is still in the ‘anagen’ phase. It could take up to 8 weeks for your regrowth, and repeated pulling could damage the hair follicle, adversely affecting future growth.
